Flu Guide:
December 15-31,
2007
by Domenick J Masiello, DO, DHt
The
Kali Bichromicum upper respiratory infection that was
mentioned earlier seems to still be the predominant epidemic
health issue out there. Patients who find it difficult to rest
during their illness are relapsing in greater numbers. Perhaps
this is because of holiday partying and travel. Whatever the
cause, the list of potential remedies useful for the relapse
just acquired a new member; add
Phosphorus to the list.
Phosphorus will be needed if the sinus congestion, post
nasal drip and accompanying cough return. The keynote here is
that the nasal discharge or the expectorated mucous is either
speckled or streaked with blood. In cases where this relapse has
progressed to a bronchitis or incipient pneumonia, the
expectorated mucus may even appear brownish in color indicating
old blood either from the inflammation directly or the rupture
of tiny capillaries from incessant coughing.
Phosphorus will resolve the cough and restore the patient's
energy in several days. I have been using either
Phosphorus 200C or 1M once a day for 2-3 days.
